Introduction

So, about me... I am 51 years old, born in Detroit, MI in November 1957. Haven't been back to Detroit since, LOL!  I grew up mainly split between Oregon and Arizona. My parents divorced, amicably, when I was very young. I initially stayed with my father in Oregon until I was in the fourth grade. That year I moved to Arizona to live with my mother. When I started high school I moved back to Oregon to live again with my father.  Since I graduated from HS I have lived in Oregon, Arizona, Pennsylvania (briefly!) Tennessee and Georgia.

I have grown up loving animals, especially dogs and horses.  Over the years I have had many different dogs, both purebred and mixed. I have raised, trained and shown several. Not near as much as I would have liked. Life tended to get in the way. Showing dogs can be an expensive hobby!

The other love of my life is art.. I draw, mostly in charcoal or pencil. Never been very good at painting as I don't do color all that well.  Here is but one sample of my sketches...

In addition to my sketches I am an avid crocheter. It is an addicting hobby!  I taught myself crochet some 30 odd years ago, but put it away due to other commitments and endeavors taking up all my time. I have recently picked it back up again.

Those are my two main hobbies.  My other pastime if you will is politics :)  I warn you now, I am a political junkie! There will likely be a lot of discussed here, so you can ignore it if you want, but since it interests ME I will post about it.  Politically, I lean very heavily Libertarian, though not completely in that camp. In essence though I believe in VERY, VERY LIMITED government, especially at the Federal level.

Spiritually... I believe in God and have frequent 'conversations' with him/her (somehow I seem to do all the 'conversing' in those conversations, LOL).. I do not necessarily however believe in "organized" religion. 

As mentioned over on my About Me blurb.. I am UNABASHEDLY patriotic! I BELIEVE in America as the greatest country "on God's green earth" to quote a popular radio talk show host! 

So there you have me, in a nutshell.. over time this can be fleshed out more I am sure. Feel free to comment.. but bear in mind, I reserve the right to monitor and approve or deny any comment. I will NOT allow any comment that uses foul language or gratuitous nastiness or name calling.
